We went to A Taste of Colorado a few weekends ago and we had such a great time. There is always so much to do, EAT, see, EAT, games to play, EAT… It is called TASTE of Colorado after all.
I had one thing on my mind… FUNNEL CAKE!
But, the first thing we did was track down the vendor selling turkey legs.
The thing was as big as his head, and he has a big head! But, he said it was “the most awesome thing he ever ate!” Great start.
It was a BEAUTIFUL day.
They have some great rides that are fun for kids AND adults.
And the Jonesie favorite……………. THE HAMSTER WHEEL!
I spotted the Mega Millions taking a break in the shade! Phew it was hot the day we went. Thank goodness the Xcel Energy booth was handing out a spray bottle/fan bottle.
And finally, we made our way over to the carnival games.
I do have to caution you around the games area. They are cash only, while everything else requires tickets, and the people working these games put the hard sell on the kids! They talk directly to the kids telling them they will give the kids an extra try, or SOMETHING to get them over there. It’s too much for me. And then when they get the kid over there they have them play the game, if the kid misses they show him how to win it and want more money. It’s really kind of heartbreaking for kids’ whose parents don’t have the cash to spend on these games. Mine included. I actually got angry at one of the vendors. So….. be warned, if you don’t want to spend the cash, avoid the area.
Disclosure: I received Taste of Colorado tickets through ColoradoKids.com in exchange for this post. Allll opinions, turkey leg eating kids and photos are my own.

Mmm… funnel cakes!
I stay far away from the games no matter what kind of carnival/festival is! Those are some of the most annoying people ever!
