This has to be one of my favorite “make your own” recipes! One of those that I am so glad there is a short cut for because it is inevitable that when I get to baking I need buttermilk. And I rarely buy buttermilk. So now I can make my own in just 5 short minutes. It’s especially awesome to have on hand for that impromptu buttermilk pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.

Serves: 1 cup
Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
Directions
- Pour vinegar into milk.
- Let sit for five minutes.
- Whisk

Thank you so much for this very simple recipe for buttermilk. The only ones I have seen use cream of tartar and I can’t imagine what that would taste like.
I will be trying this, along with your KFC cole slaw recipe.
