eBay Parent Panel: How to list an item to sell on eBay

I am so very happy to report that my very first item since joining the eBay Parent Panel has sold!

I sold Jonesie’s infant Halloween costume which was a skunk. The cutest skunk evvvvver. It has taken me a while to part with it. Ahem, I’ve had it for nearly 8 years!

So I did a little research and listed it. I listed it for $14.99 a price that I would feel good about selling it at. And it sold for $14.99. It cost me $4.90 to ship it and $.30 to list it so I have just made about $10 on something that sat in a closet for 8 years!

I put together a video of just easy it is. Here is how to list an item on eBay. The video is just under 4 minutes long. THAT’S all it takes!! (Forgive me, this was my first ever screencast so it’s a little bumbly AND I had a horrible head cold.)

So now that I’ve given you the tool necessary to list an item, I challenge you to go pick out five things that are just hanging around. Maybe it’s a Halloween costume, maybe it’s a piggy bank, an old camera, a non-working ipod (people buy these! Just sayin’), clothing, accessories, cookie cutters (seriously a Snoopy cookie cutter recently sold for $31.00), or some other goody. Go find five. And let’s clean out the house with eBay. Make a commitment to do this and we’ll do it together.
