Have you ever noticed points on your “Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Sprite Zero, DASANI, POWERADE ION, Minute Maid, VAULT, Pibb Extra, Fanta, Fresca, Barq’s, and Mello Yello, Nestea and Seagram’s containers? You can turn those in to My Coke Rewards for points and you can donate points to local schools in your area and they can get much needed sports equipment, art supplies and other educational items.
It is SUPER easy to and sign up and really easy to enter your points online at My Coke Rewards and donate them.
For YEARS I ignored those codes under the caps and printed inside of 12-packs. It was only when I was traveling for work one time where the hotel clerk saw my Diet Coke and asked if I collected points. I told him I didn’t. He explained that he collected them and would donate points to his son’s school and asked if he could have my cap. I gave it to him and he gave me a free breakfast ticket for my stay!
Later I was thinking about that conversation and decided to check into that program to see what it was about. I wish I had done it sooner. As a Diet Coke lover, I cannot tell you how many codes I have tossed in the trash because I had no idea.
Sure you can turn the points in for items for yourself, but it feels much more rewarding to me to donate points to my own son’s school. I know it’s not a ton, but it is more than I was able to give before that.
If your school is not participating you can sign them up (or forward it to your school coordinator). If you don’t have kids but use any of the products above please donate to ANY participating school. Schools need all the help they can get these days.
